It appears the the situation is that they run all of the classes. Of course, the fuel and Pro stock, plus, pro mod, motorcycles, alcohol cars and probably some jets.
They have lights and no curfew that I am aware of?????? No time for 10 more stockers..... |

I dealt with the same problem back in June for the Englishtown National Race. They wouldn't add any more Stock or Super Stock Cars even though S/G only had 45 out of a 65 car quota. And i'm not taking a shot at any S/G people. It's a shot at NHRA for not allowing any more. Englishtown like Vegas, i'm sure we can get 100 Stockers Every Year if they allowed it. And Etown had the Factory Stock Shootout, so that kinda hurts the other stockers because of the car quota. |
Re: Come on NHRA raise the Vegas Stock Quota please
You guys all act like this caught you off guard. If you want to run National events then you need to earn 5-6 grading points per year and if your smart enough to enter when these dates come up for your grade you wont be locked out.
Why is this so hard, you all know NHRA could care less about this issue. The word on the street is all national events next year mins INDY are going to be limited to 60 car fields this way all sportsman classes will be 6 round or less, this will help NHRA save on time, staffing and the points issue east coast guys bring up all the time. Don't worry there are more enhancements coming over the next 4 months. |
Re: Come on NHRA raise the Vegas Stock Quota please
In My opinion NHRA should open up more cars to enter Vegas for the following reason.
1. 100 more cars at say $400 per car is another $40,000. in income 2. 100 more cars means most likely Burton Smith Points race will have more cars at the points meet. 3.The Vegas Track can handle in the pits another 200 cars or more easy. 4. There is class for Stock and Super Stock. 5 There is appx only 30% of cars entered are from div 7.???? 6. There will still be the exact same amount of filler rounds for the Pro show on Sunday. 7.NHRA should show a concern about their customers needs now in allowing more entries for if only for their Future.and let more cars in at least 25 more per eliminator equals 100 more cars . 8.make most of their paying customers happy 9. A business should never turn down more paying customers ever cause maybe some day those paying customers will not be back |

come out West and see how many Points races you can go to within 400 miles one way of where ever you live is one problem. we don't have very many tracks close together like those racers back east. There are many racers who for some reason beyond their control could not go the 800 mile round trip to get Points, The racers did not get the memo that the entry list at Vegas was going to be cut big time > Vegas Historically can handle many more cars in the Pits and the important financial deal is the amount of Money Burton Smith is going to loose on the Points race because no one wants to go for one race they want to go to the national event then the points race , I am not 100% sure but i just bet there are at least 60 % less race tracks out here in the west |
Re: Come on NHRA raise the Vegas Stock Quota please
Entry Event Statistics show how many will be taken and how many are entered at the time,, and when you should get in, if they are going to make exceptions at one race well they better do them all the same way to be fair.
