Goodyear slicks??
I was trying to get a little taller slick on my car as the MT are 86" roll out. How are the Goodyear 28x9? Anybody use them lately. They are 88" rollout and they are narrow. 10.7 crown to crown. The Hoosier is 88 also but is 11.1. How would you compare the two for a 2900lb stick car.

Re: Goodyear slicks??
We run the Goodyear on both our high 10 Sec. PRO bracket cars with
great success. Neither car is tubbed and Goodyears fit easier. Very consistent and forgiving........9 inch tire that works like 11 inch! Hooks well even at 16 / 17 Psi not 12 like a lot of the other brands. Our cars are 3,200 lbs and are street legal and poor weight bias compared to a dedicated race car |
Re: Goodyear slicks??
John,
The tire you run may be a good choice for my son's 69 Barracuda Drag Week car. It has stock inner and outer fenderwells. Which tire do you recommend, size and compound. These would of course just be for the track. Thanks, Bill |
Re: Goodyear slicks??
Thanks for your reply. What size rim do you use ?

Re: Goodyear slicks??
We run a 9 inch rim on my boys car which was a Hot Rod cover car
and he does not want to trim the fender lip. Mine runs a 10 inch rim which make tire nearly a 1/2 wider cross section but I did trim interior of wheel lip where it does not show on my car as it's show days are over. When we get back from Winters (All 3 cars in 3rd round)....I will look in my Catalog and check compound. However, I think only on one is available which is Medium (Maybe D5 or so). |
