“Ponte dei Sospiri”or the "Bridge of Sighs" in Venice, have see it, has an interesting history of the prisoners being held at the New Prison and that were moved to the interrogation rooms in the Doge's Palace...sigh.

Yac don't do Hair Bands, as a rule, but I love this MTV style video.. Maybe it's the Harley entrance, or the Playboy rent-a-chicks, but it IS a cover song.
Almost a note for note copy of the Ian Hunter / Mick Ronson version from the 70's..

Pure California rock and roll. Fires got a little closer to home last night with a Palm Springs fire, no containment yet.

Loved Robin Trower Eddie !, As you can tell I like A LOT of stuff, specially ones that not very many enjoyed. Dark music, Deep Tracks, what ever name you put on it. Here's another one. This guy sounds like Paul Rodgers of Free/Bad Company, but he also has a Steve Marriott Humble Pie sound. Have a listen

I liked Genesis better after Gabriel left. And as far as Solsbury Hill, which is an "ok" tune, I preferred Modern Love much better. But it is mixed so horribly its hard to listen to on a good system. I didn't know about Alice Coopers guitar player being on Solsbury Hill. There was a song, it think "changes" on Yes's 90125 album that constantly changed beats. I'll post it tomorrow

Re: Musical Tastes

Okay, I got sidetracked from my cover songs, but I'm back. Anyone else have any ?

Yes , this version is a cover. Most people think the Beatles covered this one..If they did ,they ripped the soul right out of it, IMO.

The first version of this song was recorded by The Top Notes and it was produced by Phil Spector. The songwriter Bert Berns absolutely hated Spector's production because it "killed the feel" of his song and is the reason it flopped as a single. So Bert decided to produce this version with The Isley Brothers and it became a huge hit.

My personal favorite from the Woodstock (II) collection.
The connection here is this song was written by Jack Bruce, and Felix Pappalardi (vocals) produced some of the Cream albums.
I agree ..Felix belongs in the R&R HOF

Well , I didn't get my package at 8:05 , but have the song cued up.

Skip Spence was a drummer for Quicksilver Messenger Service, then a guitarist for the Jefferson Airplane. He wrote their first single from the Surrealistic Pillow album, that being "My Best Friend".. But alas , he eventually succumbed to his drug use.
Moby Grape left a few underground classics in it's wake, including this one:

8.05
Moby Grape
Eight-oh-five
I guess you're leaving soon
I can't go on without you
Its useless to try
To love you would be so good
To keep you would be so wonderful
Here is my heart that I give
It's all that I have
Please change your mind
Before my sunshine is gone
Do you think you can try?
Do you think you can try?
Do you think you can try?
Please change your mind
Before my sunshine is gone
Do you think you can try?
Do you think you can try?
Do you think you can try?
Please understand how I feel
Until I can prove it to you
Don't fill my world with rain
You know your tears
Would only bring pain in my heart
Eight-oh-five
I guess you're leaving...goodbye

Ran a couple marathons, could never get used to running with a Walkman and headsets hanging on me but I did complete a lot of projects in my head.

Song I liked. But didn't quite understand.
White Rabbit. Jefferson Airplane

2 marathons, probably 100 or so 10Ks. Best 10k was 39 something, but usually trained for marathons back in the 50 minute area where the hot chick's were. Ed, I loved the "runners high" if I took off on 5:50 pace, I would hit the high in less than a mile. Man, I miss running. I have had 2 knee replacements to show for it. Lol

I am there with the knee replacements, with the 3/5 miles runs 4 times a week, my best first mile was a 5:01 and a 16:45 three miles. I sometimes wake up in the morning and think to myself I need to run. But now I leash up my Irish Setter and go for a good brisk walk. At this point in life, it is what I can do and I will leave it at that.
