NHRA Factory Stock Showdown Rules

Hot off the press:

Factory Stock Showdown Rules Reminder
As we approach the 60th annual Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals, the NHRA Technical Department wanted to take a moment to remind all competitors of the rules for the Factory Stock Showdown. Below you will see the rules for each of the two classes: FS/A and FS/B. In addition to these rules, the cars must also meet all requirements as outlined in the 2014 NHRA Rulebook. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact the NHRA Technical Department at TechDL@nhra.com.

FS/A:
· Index: 10.10
· Supercharged entries only
o Cars with a 2.3L Eaton supercharger must weigh a minimum of 3,400 lbs.
o Cars with a 2.9L Whipple supercharger must weigh a minimum of 3,550 lbs.
FS/B:
· Index: 10.35
· Naturally Aspirated entries only
o Entries up to 400 CID must weigh a minimum of 3,250 lbs.
o Entries up to 430 CID must weigh a minimum of 3,350 lbs.

Is over bore included in the CID or just the factory CID?

Yes, sorry! Didn't realize that didn 't paste.
The V10 is 3500.

As far as the over bored motors, I cannot answer, only the NHRA tech department can.

Who's the favorite to win the NA class? What about the blower class?

Right now, I'd go with Holbrook and either Barton or Patterson.

However, there are a LOT of really good cars that will be contenders:
* NA - Connolly who was runner up last year, Hankinson in the Gray Motorsports COPO (you know it won't be slow), Allegrucci's V-10 will be really tough now that it's in with the NA cars...there's also Harrison's 426 Challenger and I'm guessing one of the Teuton Challengers will have a 426 in it. What about the still unseen Ford 429 CJs?

* Blower - I think a lot of the CJs are pretty close in performance. Butner (Emmons now has this car, of course) and Skillman were the fastest last year, but then you have guys like Gary Richard and Candies who aren't very far behind. Bruno's COPO has been running very well, plus Porter in Jimmy Vasser's COPO who hammered the AA/SA record a few weeks back...

As far as the blower cars...Alot will be shown at the Cobra Jet Shootout in Norwalk...stay tuned!
Word is over 40 CJs here.
Will try to update if possible. As from previous events, cell service is tough at the track. Will do my best.
