Pipeline breaks, weather effects, seasonal changes, election year, OPEC meetings, pipeline protests, reduced demand, speculator profits, stock markets UP, stock markets DOWN, English pound down, US dollar up -

www.gasbuddy.com

I always wondered how much less expensive gas would have been in New Jersey if they had allowed "Self-Service"! Maybe they'll be using the extra $.23 to fix the potholes on the Turnpike?

Lew, it's to fund the state transportation fund for roads and bridges. This fund has been raped by the DEMOCRAT run legislature for many years. Also it costs $1 1/2 million dollars per mile for road const. here. In comparison NY costs $500,000 per mile. You'de think that Christy Creme and the state wouls have looked into why const. costs are what they are here, nah the sheep will cough up the dough.

Ed, here's a op-ed piece by Jamie Fox (no, not THAT Jamie Fox!) that tries to explain why road projects seem to cost more in NJ. Good read!

(I think he's a Christy appointee, isn't he?)

Just FYI Toll for my car carrier costs a customer $74 to go from NJ through Staten Island to the other 4 boroughs in NYC. Tractor trailers pay around $100 to cross bridges into NY and Del. That goes to fund the Port Authority. NJ Transit fares are up in the stratosphere. What they don't tell you is the salaries NJ municipal state employees get. You would drool at the pensions of municipal employees. I worked for Con Ed and would gladly trade pensions with a municipal employee toilet cleaner any day.
And that's only the tip of the iceberg here in La La Land.

Here in KY a few years ago on the news they were saying the road fund had lost I don't know how many$$$ be cause of low gas prices, I thought nice try, gas tax here is so much per gallon,so they get the same per gallon whether gas is $1.00 0r $4.00 a gallon.
