65 Mopar B Body springs

My springs are original and the are shot! What options do I have for bolt in replacements without mods? Will the MP xhd replacements work? Will front hangers need replaced for super stock springs? This is a 400hp small block bracket car. Please help. Thanks.

I wonder if the split mono can be run without the traction devices?

Greg Luneack’s Launcher springs will be a bolt in and they work very well. Greg’s company is Tri-City Competition. He is also a wealth of knowledge for Stock and SuperStock.

Yes = I have run Caltraks without his bars and they worked fine on 500 HP Duster
(Hot Rod Mag - Project Feather Duster). However, Gregg's "Super Launcher" springs work better on it.
The Caltraks are lighter and the goal was to get the car street legal under 2,400 lbs.

the super stock springs are shorter you will have to change front hangers,
you can use super stock springs using your main leaf, common upgrade

Can you even buy SS springs from Mopar anymore? Probably NS1 like everything else in the parts catalog. The quality went downhill anyways when they moved production of them from Canada to Mexico.

That being said, the original 002/003 springs will require a 2" longer front hanger due to the shorter segment. I had a pair of those on a '65 Coronet. Without the longer front hanger, I could still safely run a 28x10.5 MT on the car without rubbing. To get the proper geometry, you have to make a new hanger hole in the frame rail ahead of the original to correct rear hanger location. It was a bracket car, but a simple way to alter the wheelbase a bit.

Mopar did sell an S/S spring for heavier cars that did not require the longer hangers. My personal opinion...Buy the Launchers.

I just acquired an NOS set of 456 and 457 springs for my '64 Sport Fury. Will I need to replace the front hanger?

You shouldn't. That is the '64/65 Hemi B-body spring.

I had those springs on my car back in the day and they worked great.
