Robz need for speed videos at Bowling Green.
Heard today that thanks to an insane amount of Jealousy on the behalf of NHRA. Rob got escorted off the starting line and was told if he posts anything they will shut him down.. He was told he is only allowed to video from the stands. And still isn't allowed to post it.

I might understand NHRA's position if All Access were broadcasting, but it isn't. Do they get a piece of the D3TV stream?
Too bad. I enjoy Rob's videos. |

I'll bet if they could made a damn dime off of his videos they be happy to let him post them. I take a lot of pictures from the stands and had the opportunity at Micheal Beards first race in Hebron and met Rob and we worked beside each other on the track. Really nice guy and takes a great video. I have looked at pictures from the pros and the ones I took on the track and I have come to the conclusion that I get a better shot most of the time from the stands because you see the whole car and not just the wheel stand in most cases which only shows the underside. Just a few from 4 wide divisional this year.

After a 15 hour ride and wet weekend to boot now this.... Wonder if he will be treated this way back home in D1... Do racers have rights to their car`s image or is that waived in the small print somewhere. Mike A114 P/SA |

You give up all of your rights when you enter any NHRA event

Re: Robz need for speed videos at Bowling Green.
Too bad NHRA can't see the potential,
Many folks see genuine organized Drag Racing for the first time because of good videos posted on sites like YouTube. Then they want to talk about it with people actually involved, get involved themselves then show up in the stands to get a good dose, to the benefit of everyone. |
Re: Robz need for speed videos at Bowling Green.
Hello Everyone. It is true, I asked for starting line credentials today and was given them to video, then when they realized it was video(they were'nt listening?) they stopped me. I contacted the NHRA like I did two years ago when I got permission to continue doing what I was doing, this time they just quoted me All Access. When I asked a couple of questions on what I could do to be within NHRA guidelines I was told there was nothing I could do. I was told and I quote, "I could go on NHRA.com and click on the link, sign the appropriate paperwork requesting permission for an event, and it would then be denied!" I then found out I made Glendora's watch list as of January this year! I'm so proud! So what I'm going to do for this event is post on YouTube unlisted for my own enjoyment, and maybe if my friends ask, I'll supply the link. We'll see. ;-)

Sounds like "overreaching" regulations, just like EPA!
