I've been running Lunati Pro Mod rods 5.7" in my 355" sbc for years. I put hundreds of runs on them, crosses at 8000-8200 rpm. After several years of running them I replaced them with another new set of the same rods just because I didn't know how long they would last. I guess it just depends on the application.

I use Oliver billet 6" rods in my 434. I have 200 runs on them running @ 7800. I mag them every 100 runs or so. I think these are the best rods for high hp bracket small blocks. My motor makes 830 on the pump and runs 10.90@ 151.00 at 2830 lbs. If you need help or info send me a pm.

What the heck, Who do you run an ET with a MPH 1.0 seconds faster?

Is it like a throttle stop car or something? Im a little confused at your ET VS MPH

Yes, that would be a throttle stop car. Super Sreet(NHRA) or Hot Rod(IHRA). And a very fast small block 10.90 class car for sure.

Prior to last year
I ran a 421 SBC with dart 23 degree heads in S/G , 9.90 @ 148/150 MPH ,,, Motor in my Cutlass would run 8.70's @ 154 all out -----I put about 400 runs on a set of LA Enterprise / kryptonite 6" steel rods ,,, I would leave on the converter every pass ( 5800/5900 RPM ) and go through @ 7700/7800 ,,,, Never broke a rod !!!--- 3years ago I spun a bearing and switch to Comp Star steel rods and never had a problem ,,
sold motor last year and new owner hasn't had any problems ,,,,, I've ran just about all the rods over the years and the one caution is watch the weight specificly if you will be twisting this thing above 7500 ,,,
the Olivers , Carrilo's , Crowers , Lunati etc are all good but some are very Heavy !

I have run my car in S/St and H/R the last couple of years. My driver (son) likes to chase. Flat out the car has gone 8.52 @ 157.00 with a 1.21 60' time. On the throttle stop 10.90@ 151 with a 2.10 60' time. If I were still in the seat I would be running s/g
