just got off phone with fuzz ,,, hes ok ,was a lil mix up at turnoff and got rear-ended ,,,, cars at hortons getting fixed,,,,

No one rear ended him.... he had made a dumb *** move and took the early turn off and clipped the opponent, dammaging both cars. damn near got his *** kicked from what I heard.

Who was the other driver involved. Does anyone know? 21 showed up for first round and only 10 for the second...

Don't know his name ,but it was like a 88- 91 red and white cutlass. Don't remember who won , but neither car was able to race due to damages.

Steve won, he was .000 and dead on....slowed down...looked left...didnt see anyone...made the turn...boom. The End.

Steve's a stand up guy that I'm sure would have taken the blame no matter.

To end the speculation of what happened.
I went through the 1/8th mile stripe 20 mph higher than my opponent (he went 102 mph) for the win and then slowed down through the rest of the 1/4 mile strip and down through the shutdown area to the next to last turnoff that everyone was using. I was in the right lane and both of us intended to turn left off the track. I was way in front of him and looked back and could not see him. I figured he took earlier turnoff or was behind me so turned off going very slow all the while looking . I saw him coming after I got broad side in the track and gased it to get out of his way and he hit me in the rear quarter panel behind the back tire going about 40-50 mph. He wound up in the center of his lane and I was in the guard rail next to the turn off. I could not see him and he must not have seen me although he was behind me the whole time somewhere. There was no fight and I spoke to him before I left. I have the misfurtune of being out front a lot as my car is fast for Super rod and have this predictament most every run. I dont understand why it went down like that but it did and I turned across the track like I did every run if I was in the right lane. You cannot take any thing for granted. I wish I had went to the sand trap and turned off but I would have had to get back on the gas to get there racing 1/8th mile on 1/4 mile track.

This brings up a question because I find myself in the same situation. When going into the shut down and you need to cross over into the other drivers lane to exit, is there a rule or just suppose to be a courtesy to wait for that other driver to pass before you turn? And how long should you wait if dont see other driver...I've almost come to a stop before they've come by me. I for one, have had some close calls on both sides of this situation.
