SG Door car tire pressures
Just curious where people are finding their best tire pressures. I search, but most threads seem to come from dragsters running 5-6 pounds.
I'm in a 2600 pound door car. Currently 60' in 1.200 seconds. 1.80 glide, 4.30 rear end. 104" rollout rear tires (NOT stiff sidewall). I run about 9.5 pounds hot. 8.5 cold. +/- based on weather. Too high? Too low? Just right? |

Re: SG Door car tire pressures
The more air pressure you can run the better. It will also help your rt. I run anywhere between 10 to 12 lbs. depending on track conditions, but I do run more than most. 3200 lb Chevy II. Hope this helps some.

Re: SG Door car tire pressures
Same pressure hot or cold? Don't your cold tires coming off the trailer heat up enough to add a pound from the first burnout?
I'm trying to get to about 9.5 pounds immediately after the burnout. That's why first pass I have set about a pound lower. Am I doing it wrong? |

Re: SG Door car tire pressures
We alway run 7.25lbs, hot or cold. 1971 Challenger, 2640lbs w/driver, 33x16 Hoosier tires, runs 155mph.
If you can run more air, still cut a light and not spin - then your better off with more. Our car happens to like it in between 7 & 7.5. Brad |
