8:40 index in mexico
 

I run in Mexico in a class called Pro Comp. the index is 8.40 in these class you run in ex. pro stock cars currently I run a JBRC Grand Am with a 632 engine, powerglide trany, and almost all tracks in Mexico are bad. My questions are:
- what gear and tire size should I use for my car to be consistant, and what wheather station and software do you all recomend. Iam also using a TS6 throttle stop with a CC3 box do you all think that these throttle stop and box are good? Or also what do you recomend for these setup?:confused:

I run the TS6, I think it's the best stop in the business. I ran a CC3 until last year when I needed a smaller box and went with the Dedenbear Lightning (essentially the same box, smaller size). Love them both, very consistent.

I use a weather station and software from ifamilysoftware.com. Excellent stuff, very good predictions, and much easier to use than many of the competitors.

Most of the top Sportsmen cars with a set up like yours use 4:33 and prostock size tires (33-17-16) but that is on a good race tracks If i were you I would consider a 4:10 or 3.89 and shift it in to high on a timer @ 1.00 seconds or less. If you have enough performance cushion I would turn the stop on before 1.0 seconds so you shifting while on the stop both help consistency.
As far as a weather station or t-stop software it's hard to beat Don Higgens @ Crew Chief Pro for technical support and if your careful about what you put in to his software( remember junk in junk out) and once you have enough good data in it, it will get you dead nuts on your index.
Pay attention to your 60" times if they vary more that +/- .003 you might as well get a dart board. I would also recommentd that you get a data logger so you can understand what and why a pass is junk (i.e.did it spin the tires on the hit?in 60' or 800'? was the motor to hot? did you lift, battery going dead ?ect.)
Finally, pay attention to the water temp and leave with the same water temp every time if possible.

I don't have any experience with a blade type throttle stop but I do run a diedenbear box and I like it.
