Sad News in D1
 

I was sadly informed today of the passing of Erik Kaufman.. brother and stellar crew chief to his brother Michael, a great D1 Top Sportsman racer, and also crew chief to Gerry Russo, another great D1 Comp racer.. Erik passed this morning around 7:30 am.. I was not given details..

Erik was a wonderful human being and a great friend in the D1 one pits.. there was never a sad moment when Erik was around.. he will be greatly missed by many..

My condolences and sympathies go out to his brother Michael and the entire Kaufman family.. as well as to Gerry Russo, friends, and Erik's entire racing family.. GODSPEED ERIK!!

Very sad news indeed. Erik was a great guy. My family's condolences to the Kaufman family.

Truly a great loss. Erik was always so full of life at the track. He will be missed by many !

Mike, I am VERY SAD to hear this. You know I really liked your brother a lot. He was always great to have in the pits and he will be missed by many. I am sure you have a great big hole in your heart right now and just know that I feel for you---- God speed Erik!!! The big man in the sky needed a great crew chief!!!!
