CCRA #3--05/12/12--Coastal Plains
 

CCRA race #3 at Coastal Plains Dragway in Jacksonville, NC sponsored by H & F Performance out of Wilson, NC next Saturday, May 12, 2012. H & F is owned by our own Super Stock racer, Mr. Doug Hobgood. I spoke with Shawn, track manager at CP this morning regarding the schedule for next week. Gates will open at 11 a.m. with time trials beginning at 1 p.m. They have a full day of events that day with a bracket race consisting of Pro, Footbrake, & Jrs. as well as the Extreme Outlaw ProMods. According to Shawn, the run schedule will be Pro, FB, Jrs, then CCRA time trial #1, then ProMod Q1, followed back by Pro, FB, Jrs, & CCRA Dash for Cash. Then they will do ProMods Q2 & after that, we will begin our eliminations. Shawn estimated that to be around 4 p.m. or so. The ProMod eliminations aren't schedule to begin until 7 p.m. so the goal is hopefully for our portion of the race to be either completed by then or close to completion so those that are traveling aren't leaving the track too late. I would like to thank everyone who attended race #3 at Coastal Plains on Saturday. We had a lot of new faces!! I know that the track had a full day of events but I want to extend a "special thank you" to all the racers for working with me & getting our portion of the event finished in a timely manner!! We had 27 cars make the 1st round call. Mark Young was the Kenny Koonce Jr. Dash for Cash winner & the 3rd qualifier for the special shootout race to be held at Fayetteville Motorsports Park at our last event. Mike Longhany received the $50 Best Losing Package--1st round. Homer Carty received the $50 for the Best Reaction Time--Entire race for his .0042 during the 1st round. This makes the 2nd time that Homer has received this award. We had 2 more members to enter our points so that now brings our total to 44 members for the 2012 racing season!!!
