pushrod size
 
I have to order a new pushrod set for my small block chevy ss engine . At time I am using 3/8 taper from comp cam . What size do you recommand?

7/16 is what my SS engine has in it.

The current prevailing theory, which I subscribe to, is that you cannot make a pushrod too stiff. If you can get a 7/16" x 0.165" wall pushrod in it, that's what I'd put in it. We all run insane cam profiles and turn them ridiculous RPM, using monster valvesprings. That calls for all the pushrod you can get, to reduce or eliminate the tendency of the pushrod to act like a spring. You only want one spring in your valvetrain, the one that holds the valve shut.

Straight 1/2in. on the exhaust. 1/2-7/16 taper on the intake both .165 wall. Agree bigger, stiffer is better. Joe
