66 Chevy II, one for the bracket guys

File this under, "I have too many projects"!
Have spent the last few weekends as time has allowed working on my Chevy II bracket car. I've owned this POS for 36 or so years. Bought it in 1977. The old warhorse has spent the last 24 years or so as a garage queen. It wasn't a cherry to begin with, let's say time hasn't been kind to it. I first started fiddling with it again,in 2008. I haven't been real energetic in getting much done to it. Finally, the rear suspension is back under the car. It now has a complete Chris Alston 4 link. I took a car that was originally a ladder bar car and put a four link under it. Let's just say, that was a lot more work than I anticipated. Anyway, it's now back on the ground and can be considered a roller again. Something to go harrass the local racers. |

Do the best you can, and keep chippin away at it. Building your own stuff is more than half the fun...and all the glory!

Thanks Wade. This is the 3rd major incarnation of this old car. And my last, if it under goes another transformation, it will be someone else's vision (and work). I wish I could do as nice of work as you do. I have learned a lot. I seriously doubt I ever build another chassis car.
This one will be Tod's baby to drive. I just plan to tune it and occasionally work on it. After this it's back to messing with stockers for me. Fortunately, we have most of the pieces to finish this thing. It's just finding the time to put it all together. |
