Re: 67 chevy II stock build
Jim Woods has a Chevy-2 post car for sale over on Racing Junk site. It is a 283-220hp with a PG trans. There is a picture of the car in the sale ad also.

Re: 67 chevy II stock build
Don't know where it went but when it first surfaced I had to fight the urge (I'm a MOPAR or no car kind of guy). Suspect Jim sold it because of his new IHRA role (could not happen to a nicer and more qualified person) but was shocked he priced it that cheap. Somebody got a proven winner.

Re: 67 chevy II stock build
Ronnie, I think it was reasonable, depending on what you want to do with it. It has a broken, twisted 10 Bolt in it, so you could spend some money and fix it, but probably better off to get a complete 12 Bolt unit from Moser, MW, etc. Once that is done you've probably got a 30 under piece (NHRA Index), maybe a bit more. Next, you got to put a metric 200 in it, conv. driveshaft, crossmember, etc. Then you'll be going fast enough to just be getting beat by a car length in Heads-Up runs. So now it will be better motor time(Insert Needle Here). So I think it was reasonable, Not Free!!

Re: 67 chevy II stock build
Jim advertised the car as needing a ring and pinion and even with another 2K thrown at it the car would be a very reasonable entry level stocker. Anyone wanting to buy a car that will win most heads up races had better be prepared to spend twice that for a lower class car. Ronnie, good luck with your search and living in Bowling Green I know you'll get plenty of leads....great area for class racers.

Ron - Give Thomas Arnett a call...(270) 338 - 6325. He's just a stones throw from you in Greenville. He and his family have some of the quicker Stockers in the area and I'm sure he would not mind pointing you in the right direction...probably knows most of the cars in the area as well.
