NHRA Blue print changes

The 1970 intake manifold has been changed for the chevrolet 350/360-370. The listing includes 3927116. What is this manifold? Any ideas?

Service Replacement manifold available from GM.

So instead on an aluminum hi-rise dual plane you now get a Torker or Victor Jr?

Bruce Noland 04-06-2007 06:59 PM

No, I believe this intake has been around for 20+ years. At one time it was available over the counter from Chev dealers. It looks just like the original as I remember. That is, unless they have a new version that I have not seen.

MYLINRACING 04-06-2007 10:26 PM

is it still a dual plane intake?

What is there about this statement that you do not understand? Unless you have not seen any of these manifolds.

MYLINRACING 04-07-2007 09:42 PM

if you read his statement he say" as i remember". yes i do know what one looks like i run a 70 lt1 in my s\gtb firebird. sorry i didn't know i couldn't ask a question i run the original winters intake and didn't know if the replacement was any better!

classof65 04-08-2007 02:29 PM

It's probably better and or more readily availible.

Peace, Rev.

SS Engine Guy 04-08-2007 02:32 PM

Valid question. Most replacement stuff dosen't resemble the originals. I know the manifold has a shorter inboard radius on the outer four intake runners. Anytime the auto makers reproduce a part, if possible, any improvements are included. That is why anytime a "replacement" part is allowed in S/SS it should be evaluated by people who are actually familiar with what this part is intended to do.

The manifold is still a dual plane.

J Parker 04-08-2007 07:35 PM

This manifold is virtually identical to the 110 that was already shown for this motor. NHRA got the 2 and the 7 reversed when they listed the number, it should be 3972116. That number was already on the authorized list of intakes for the '69 302.
