super stock "engine mounted" fuel pump

What are some engine mounted pumps that give excellent service and performance? Also, what return regulator?

Thank You

Why? Not sure what you're trying to do, or why you want to reinvent the wheel.

Pumps do not like to "pull" a liquid, they much prefer to "push" it.

The higher the demand, the great degree of difficulty and the higher the expense involved in make a pump that "pulls" work.

Adding the G force of acceleration to that only makes things worse.

There is a good reason 99% of all faster Stock and Super Stock cars run a rear mounted electric fuel pump such as a MagnaFuel or Aeromotive, at or behind the cell.

Why introduce engine heat to the fuel system?

Re: super stock "engine mounted" fuel pump

my question comes form years of bracket racing with a BLP belt drive pump and bypass regulator.

That sure works good, low fuel pressure at low speed, full pressure at race RPM.

I thought some might be running an engine mounted pump, looks like not.

Out of curiosity, do we know what NASCAR engines use for fuel pump? I have seen photos of those engines with block mounted pumps.

Looking around the web and found the Nascar boys used these, until fuel injection a couple years ago.

....and they could still use this style fuel pump for EFI, but someone decided against it.....way too much thinking over there on the easy stuff

Stick with your BLP pump or go with an APD pump. A lot of weekly bracket racers still use the older edelbrock speedway pump and with alcohol. Rear cell is also not a problem for a 9-11 second car

Mannymen,

belt drive pump not allowed in super stock. If it were allowed, that would be my choice.

Wheelstands make the problem of a front mounted pump even more difficult..
