CLASS RACER FORUM - Lack of Sportsman Coverage on the Boob Tube

The last few weekends I have tried in vain to find some sportsman drag racing coverage on the boob tube. Aside from NHRA Today and inside drag racing on ESPN2, I have totally struck out. I find it hard to believe that with 155,000 drag racers nation wide (per PRI's latest stats), there still isn't any TV coverage of sportsman drag racing. All you ever see deemed as sportsman racing is the Alcohol cars. Why can't NHRA push to air at least the finals of all the sportsman categories. Or what about airing class eliminations?!!! That would be great! No disrespect to the Alcohol racers. I don't think that someone will tell you that they don't enjoy watching the Frank Manzo's and the Bob Newberry's duke it out.

Len Imbrogno, do you have any insight regarding this issue? We appreciate your thoughts.

On the lighter side, although my quest to find reputable drag racing failed, (yes I watched Pinks.......................nothing more than the Jerry Springer version of Drag Racing) I did find a few other popular motorsport categories on speed channel. The first was the figure 8 school bus racing and the second was the combine demolition derby. Why can one find this kind of filler space garbage on TV, but no legitimate drag racing? I'm confused.
