Tire question
What's the difference between a D06 compound and a D07 in a 9.00X15X30 Hoosier slick?

Re: Tire question
Greg,
Believe that the D07 is the "firmer" compound for stick applications. At the bottom of the Drag Racing section of the Hoosier tire specification sheet, they illustrate a spectrum of compound designations from soft to firm. |
Re: Tire question
Those would be bias ply,radials start with a "C".With Hoosiers the lower the number the softer the compound.The 30.0 X 9 # 18200 seems to come in a DO5 or DO7.While the 29.0 x 9 #18160 comes in a DO6 or DO7. gsa612

Re: Tire question
The 9" radial comes in C06 or C07. The C06 is a little bit softer, and is only available in the tires designated as 'lightweight'. I assume that lightweight also means 'might be a little quicker but won't last as long'.
I always use the C07 18210, and love that tire. 125-150 passes. |
