BB vs SB on routine GM stocker race to race maintenance

I've never raced a BB car ex: 427 60's stocker vs. SB stocker. I usually never go but one round, but say 6-7 rounds, race to race preventative type checking over. Does the BB require any more time or effort if you like to stay on top of things or are they about the same ??? I'm car shopping and just wanted to throw this out there for advice which there is usually an abundance. Thanks
