Heat treating ring and pinion
Who does heat treating on ring and pinions, or whatever process to make them live longer? Sorry if this has been brought up in the past, I could not find anything.

Re: Heat treating ring and pinion
I would consider cryogenically treating it. Adds life to most anything.

How is that done, and where?

Re: Heat treating ring and pinion
The best would be to purchase a new gear set already heat treated from Mark Williams, Indy Gear or Gleason.
I do not recommend heat treating any used set of ring and gears. If they are used, Cryogenics and REM/Micronite finish. http://www.performancemetal.net https://www.crownracegears.com/heat_treatment.html https://www.300below.com/motorsports/ https://negearpolishing.com/services/rear-axles |

Tom,
Depending on the brand and supplier, it could be already heat treated. |
