new stocker guy
 
hello my name is kevin scott. i recently purchased a 90 pontiac trans-am stocker 350 tpi i/j/k s/a car from ronnie cardwell. i previously was just a foot braker bracket racer. i am in limbo with all of the rules and formulas having to know for tech at track. i will racing in division 4. if any body can help me with some of this it would be greatly appreciated. also needing to see about some engine parts and efi wiring harness and either accel or fast or holly efi command center. my cell is 214-926-3913 or write me back on here

Kevin,

Welcome and you have bought a real good piece, all the Cardwell cars where good runners...I would get ahold of Bud Rowe @ 252-633-4084 and his is very good with 305,350,283 and LT1.
I am sure he can and well help you with any questions or parts you need...Good Luck and tell Bud I said hi, he's the best with small block Chevies.........Let me know if I can be of more help.

thanks so much for replying, i am excited but do know anything about the factoring hp or figuring wght of vehicle for what ever class. and how to add wght to run what ever class. wondering if you could contact me via cell phone 214-926-3913. i talked to the tech guy for div 4 , was some help. but stated i needed to seek out on my own. and i dont know what to seek out so i can be ready.

Kevin your car is a natural J it needs to weigh 3420 min. with you in it. you car also add weight to run K it needs to weigh 3550 min. you can also lighten to I. for I it needs to weigh 3290 min with you in it. the indexes are 12.95 for K 12.75 for J & 12.60 for I hope this helps. :)

thanks for the help. quick question though i think that when ronnie told me the car weighs 3550. i am not familar how to take out weight to get to the lower classes. i know that there is a weight box in the back. and what can i use for weight to add

Kevin it "should" have some weight attached to the frame or crossmember ....that weight "should" also be pemanently attached. Now as for what can you use....lead shot...lead bars.....my old nova I had tractor suitcase weights under the front seat bolted & welded to the trans crossmember. good luck
