Very sad to hear this. Jim was a great racer. He also loved the Ventures, we would always talk about music too. Rest in peace Jim.

Re: RIP Jim Meador
I had the chance to meet Jim at Pacific Raceways many years ago. He didn't know me, but was a pleasure to talk with and just a nice guy. R.I.P. Jim and prayers for you family and many friends.

Re: RIP Jim Meador
Very sorry to read this. He won Pomona a time or two, built a Grumpy Jenkins link a like white 67 Camaro, and he sure could make a 396 run. My condolences to all.

Re: RIP Jim Meador
Didn't Jim also own the Great White Whale '69 Chevelle that Toby Lang ran for several seasons?? I believe that car is now being run by Phil Mandella , jr.

Re: RIP Jim Meador
Jim Meador was one of a kind. He was affectionately referred to as “Diamond Jim “. Jim had a passion for NHRA stock eliminator and music. He always built his own engines and would scoff at buying an engine from a professional race engine builder. His Camaro was a top runner in D/SA. Jim would play along side the Ventures from time to time. For you youngsters , the Ventures recorded the theme song for Hawaii 5-0 back in the day. Prayers for his wife, children and grandchildren . GODSPEED Diamond Jim !!!
