Anti-Roll Bar
Running 1995 Caprice in J/SA
Launches hard with left front coming off ground. Right side barely stays on ground. Want to stop the twisting. Are Anti Roll Bars Legal in Stock? Current solution using Double Adjustable Shocks. Using Dick Miller components including Suspension Brace. It wants to launch harder. Too high a Launch rpm breaks tires loose. Dan |

Re: Anti-Roll Bar
Billy is correct, must be bolt-on only. I like the H&R Parts 'n' Stuff bar. It may be difficult to find one for a GM "B" body.

Re: Anti-Roll Bar
Right rear air bag? Just thinking out loud.

Re: Anti-Roll Bar
A stiffer passenger side rear spring will help some.

Re: Anti-Roll Bar
Has SS Roll bar and Airbags.
Stiffer Roll Bars are available and bolt on. Double Adjustable Shocks are next. |
Re: Anti-Roll Bar
Dan… Like previously mentioned add some spring to the RH Side. Try a "Cargo Coil" (Lesjofors 4412114) or a Wagon Spring (Dorman 566208). Could be a simple low cost fix. MB

Re: Anti-Roll Bar
bolt in ladder bar/torque bar, drivers side. LONNNNNNNG
Damn. Not sure where my head was. Passenger side. Mark has a point. No longer than OEM BUT (a little hint) it can be tied into Roll bar. |

I was going to suggest a quality set of shocks, they aren't going to be cheap but I'm sure will be worth it allowing you the ability to "tune " your suspension. Another thing that comes to mind is to make sure all your suspension components are "free to move" and the front and rear wheels are all heading in the same direction. I believe if you allow the suspension to work / move that you should be able to leave at a higher RPM, and pick up some ET, and not spin the tires. Years ago I bracket raced a 1962 Impala with a coil suspension, and I found found once I freed up the suspension and allowed free movement, I was able to leave around 4500 rpm. The car had 9x30 firestone slicks and a 350 chevy engine. Nothing fancy by todays standards. I hope this helps , if you have any questions I'll be a the Grove for the Dutch Classic. Good luck.
