I haven't seen an oil that advertises the formula for back when the EPA mandated Zinc removal.
That formula worked why not go back to it for racing?
Just how much Zinc was in those old formulas? (& what other chemicals that helped form the varnish/antiwear)

Lake is kind of goofy, loud, and over the top. But he is fairly smart.

Honestly, since the OE has abandoned flat tappet cams, no segment of the automotive aftermarket or petroleum industry has any significant desire to support those who use them.

The truth is, while everyone hated them, the ceramic foot lifters, with good quality manufacture, and proper care during installation and use, may be the best solution.

That reminds me of one of the GM engineers that taught us at the tech center when I was an apprentice. He’d say “ If a little is good , a lot is better and too much us just right”

He's pretty tame in this video, most of the time it's like listening to David Lee Roth which is too bad because he brings a lot of good info for sure.

I was thinking Billy Mays, or the guy who does the "Flex Seal" commercials.

Alan are you saying it is like the fingernails on the chalkboard?
I would say a little higher pitch than the flex seal guy & alot higher when he goes "on the chip" with excitement.
OE was forced to abandon FT cams because EPA mandated zinc removal from the oils. Zinc was causing the catalytic converters to fail before the mandated 100,000 mile emissions rules. OEM knew the FT would fail with out the Zinc and went to the rollers.

I got used to Lake, he doesn't really bother me now.

Those of us who are older remember the flat tappet catastrophes that happened in the late seventies and early eighties, before the drive to lower zinc in the oil, and that's where the roller tappet move originated. The need to have longer warranty periods to remain competitive, and for emissions purposes added to it.

The problem we have now is as much a result of material and manufacturing quality as it is oil. Of course, in Stock it is exacerbated by the spring pressures.

I seem to remember the Govt. removing the majority of sulfur from oil either before or after the zinc.

Pretty sure the sulfur came out of diesel fuel. For the same reason zinc came out of oil.
