Pinion angle on 340 Duster

So I got the CalTracs on (split mono standard height) what are you guys-gals running for pinion angle? Do these springs wrap up like the S/S springs? I’ve set it up at 3 degrees down from center line of engine trans. I’d rather get it close without adding wedges later on. No I don’t want to ask the Cal people.

1 to 1 1/2 down as I recall.

They do not need the larger pinion angle down
that the old Superstock and Launchers required.

John Calvert is a great guy and I never hesitate to ask
him anything suspension related!

The older installation instructions used to recommend 3-4 degrees angle ,but I see the new instructions no longer mention pinion angle . I've always installed them at 4*.
I'd call Calvert for a recommendation.

Re: Pinion angle on 340 Duster

I think I’ll wait till the block and trans case-main shaft are in car to see where their centerline lays. I can get 2 birds on that making up the SS headers at same time.
Like John said 1 to 2-1/2 down from that. Awhile back I saw a vid where a guy had a go-pro camera under car to watch the launch, that rear did a lot of wrap up and movement. So I don’t have experience with Cals, thats the reason I’m asking real world A-Body racers their setups.
Appreciate all comments from our expert racers.
