one or two batteries?
 
SS/GT cavalier...not sure which way to go. any advice please...i plan to run an alternator.

I you need the weight anyway = Why not run a
second battery. We do in our cars.

What’s nice about GT is class flexibility, if you need the weight then what John said. If you’re looking to be able to move up in classes occasionally then it’s a lot easier (and cleaner) to just remove weight bars.

would any ony have a battery cable diagram to hook up two batteries using charging lugs and required kill switch in the system...tks !

I totally agree that if you need weight, might as well be a second battery. One piece of advice that I learned the hard way, between races, separate and load test the batteries individually. If one of the batteries goes bad, it will take the other one down with it.

This is absolutely correct!
if you must run two batteries consider running an isolator you could even put a switch inside the car in case one battery goes dead. Hit the switch and you’re up and running.

We run two batteries in the Cuda each weighing 11.5 lbs one in stock location one in the trunk. We lost a little weight off of the front. Dumbo only has one in stock location.
