MSD 6T ?

Re: MSD 6T ?
No idea if MSD still sells them, but I have been running a MSD 6T with a "Soft Touch" rev limiter and a 2 step in my 4 speed bracket car, for over 35 years now. When I converted my car to a MSD, the 6ALs were not available yet, so I went with the 6T, and it has been 100% reliable. More than I can say for the 2 6 ALs that failed twice in 10 years in my Stocker. Rather than built in rev limiter holders, the 6T has a separate provision for the rev limiter, and the 2 step plugged into that. If you want, I can check my car tomorrow to see what the number on the Soft Touch rev limiter is, I seem to recall it was unique to the 6T, but not positive.

I believe it's MSD 8738---FED 387

Re: MSD 6T ?
I found an early 2000 msd catalog [real paper pages!]
so yes you can plug a 8738 soft-touch into the 6400 6T. and also an 8739 two step into the 8738. next you can use an rpm module selector #s 8670 thru 8675 [adj. range approx. 2,200 rpm]. I would assume a 3 step 8737 would also work thanks for the reply's guys. Rod in AZ |
