Brad Burton

What happened to Brad Burton in round 2 of stock eliminator at Seattle? Broke out against a broken slower car.

My guess is that he thought Seaburg went red and that his win light was on.

After the weekend he had at Woodburn and rise in the points I wouldn?t have wanted to be near their trailer when he got back. Suspect Bobby is close with his guess. Thankfully he?s got time to recover.

Not sure what time they ran that round.

If just before sunset then it is hard to see in the left lane, staring right into the setting sun heading west.

If after dark the only lights are at the starting line shining down the track.

Miscue for sure.

Mental miscue on my part. Night run at a track that doesn't have the best lighting, even with the added lighting they brought in, and score boards that are worse than any other track we go to. Thought I saw my win light and assumed he had went red and why he had lifted. Wanted to get data back to my mom that was a few pairs back so I legged it. You can imagine how I felt when I got the time slip. Even after 20 years of driving, you can always find new ways to lose.

Same thing happened to me the only time ever raced at the crapbox of Noble, OK.

Brad...I was watching from the stands on North side Friday night down low on the grassy area in front of the stands. And the NHRA camera setup had a set of green lights on it just like the finish line scoreboard win lights. And it was really confusing me and I was not even in a racecar on the track.

So, don't be so hard on yourself. It was easy to mistake that camera light at night for the win light. They looked the same from a distance.

I had a night race in Pomona years ago, I spun and legged it out, the other driver drove it though and broke out, it happens at night. Brad, 3 Wally?s in Woodburn, your fine buddy. John
