1 or 2 tires
 

Brought back another memory back from Indy. Had a nail in one of slicks when I go home. Not to bad other than the fact I bought them earlier this summer. Can I get away with just putting one new tire on or do I need a pair? Thoughts?

Plug it or measure it try to buy one same size if on a budget. I have plugged a bias slick due to they only had 5 passes on them and ran it all year and it never leaked . May have just got lucky. I have never tried plugging a radial slick. If you get new tires every year season is almost over a plug may get you through the year .

I agree with Brett. I keep plugs in my trailer and have plugged many slicks at the track. One good burnout and it is in the tire for life …

Agreed with the above. I've patched several slicks. I usually go for the inside out type of plug, but I have raced slicks with regular trailer tire plugs because I was in a bind. Held air just fine and ended up racing them like that for several more weekends.
