NORTON -- Christopher D. ``Chris' Wertman, 38, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2010 as the result of a house fire.

He was a lifelong resident of the greater Akron area. His professional careers included computer systems architect and all around computer wizard, plumber and race car builder and driver, known in the racing community as, Chris ``Drooze' Wertman. Chris was a devoted and loving son and father who beamed when proudly speaking of his children. He was truly passionate about his interests and his family and always maintained a never-give-up attitude. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. As one close friend said, ``If you are lucky, you will meet someone like Chris once in your lifetime.'

Preceded in death by his grandparents, Rollin and Frances Snowball, John and Freda Lombardi, Chris is survived by his father, David Wertman; mother, Linda Snowball; stepfather, Francis Stoughton; sons, David (Spongemonkey) and MAXimillian (Bugs) and daughter, IsaBella (Boo-Boo Kitty) and many other relatives and friends.

Calling hours will be Thursday, August 5, 2010 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton 44203. A memorial service will be held for family and friends at the funeral home on Friday, August 6, 2010 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made at any 5th 3trd Bank Center to the Chris Wertman Memorial Fund for the benefit of his three children.
