Post Re: synthetic racing oil?

I've been very happy with Amsoil products. They've come out with a line called "Dominator" which includes 5w-20, 10w-30 and 15w-40, all with extra zinc & phosphorous for flat tappet cams. I use the 5w-20 which I'm pretty sure can be gotten for less than $10.

While I never had the luxury of putting an engine on a dyno, the most obvious and simple example I've seen of how well it works is when I change from conventional straight weight 30w or 40w oil used for break-in. I have to adjust the idle down every time - no other changes. It has helped ET over other conventional oils, but it's been a while since I switched. I've never bothered to compare it to other synthetics on the track, but I sincerely doubt there would be much difference.
