I have been eating them off and on for at least 40 years and have yet to eat one that is unbroken. I think the wrapping paper is made from Kevlar seconds and the glue is left over book binding adhesive.

Maybe they ought to put them in those two piece plastic containers with the top welded on..The kind you have to use tin snips to open.
