Re: Live from NHRA- Sony/PCRichard Pennsylvania Dutch Class
Well God forbid I get yet another pay cut this year - in case you didn't know Kenny is tough to work for .....before this weekend I was working for peanuts -- now I'm fighting for acorns ....what next ?? Guess I'll have to write a few stories / tell a few tales and then post some pictures . Geez , the guy posts pictures one time this year early and I'm in the doghouse . He's really having a tough time handling his new found stardom so we'll have to cut him some slack ..............he's probably out with the "Wine n Cheese " crowd tonight signing some of his "Hero " cards .
Anyway we got in some first rounds today and Stock went out on the track first and early .Best thing I could say is that the place was wicked fast - no one trusted their dial .Low temps - low humidity - and the barometer increased almost .40 overnight .Most racers say their year best evers yesterday - but today it was twilight zone stuff - the place wasn't a mineshaft - it was way past that for many .
Not to say the great air didn't take it toll - countless rear ends - a few transmissions - and engines ----- quite a few in fact but the worst being Al Marks ultra clean '69 Camaro A/SA -- after going thru the traps and winning his round with a dead-on his dial 10.25 -- then he lifted and ca-boom .The rest of the story isn't pretty but Al now has all Winter to fix it .
SuperStock got their first round in also - but it took all day to get there as they finally got on the track after 5 pm - same story but not as fast for them - broken pieces and plenty of broken dreams .......and all Winter to "what if " ..........
I got more and I'll get to it .....but this should get him off my back ......for a little while anyway . Later ...........
