Larry...the 283/283hp engine was with Rochester Fuel Injection and Duntov 097 cam....

There were 2-2x4 carb combos...270hp with the above mentioned 097 cam...and
245hp with a regular hydraulic cam...Cylinder heads and cc's may differ as well so
one should check the latest NHRA engine specs to see what's permitted....

Was the 250hp FI engine (with regular hyd cam) available in '57 or did it come later?
