After a successful first outing, what now? First, a review of the facts;
*Friday night at Texas Motorplex the tech inspection took some time because I have the only SS GT S-10 with 300/327/293 in D 4.
*Both the D 4 lead tech inspector and the D 4 director spent extra time crunching numbers to triple check what class the Super 10 fits.
*Bottom line, it is a natural "A" but it is not possible for it to be that light. So, we will run "B"
*At this time, at 3275 pounds with driver it is 170 pounds heavier than the minimum.
*The "B" index is 10.85
*The truck ran 10.48 being 170 pounds heavy in 100 + temp with 4000 foot air.
*I think it is reasonable to predict under better conditions and 170 pounds lighter
it will qualify well in "B" I think it will eventually be a .65 under - .75 under package.
*D 4 next scheduled Lucas race is September at Thunder Road near Shreveport La.
So, we have about 7 weeks to prepare. My plan just now is do some low cost minor weight removal items. In addition, go back over everything to detail, clean, sort things that were skipped in order to make the first race.
At Thunder Road we will most likely be about 120 pounds heavy but I am OK with that.
Now, let me explain, I really like this truck

It is a great package and we expect plenty of win lights.
I can already tell the 327 likes RPM. Everything we did Saturday to spin it up improved the ET. It does sing a sweet song.
Please excuse the typos, I have pushed myself this last month to have the truck ready. With the help of key team members we made it and ran well without problems. That plus two days in the 100 temps and I am tired. Wore myself to a nub that wore out the nub, whew!
After a few days of rest I'll get back to y'all.
