Interesting happenings today, I went to the Yerington High School to pick up first batch of Christmas stockings for the American Legion Post #9 Christmas visit at the VA Hospital in Reno. The student body went over the top in their efforts. We are all too happy to have these young people thinking and doing for our Veterans. So I proceed to the gas station to full up and strike a conversation with a gentleman doing the same. He asked me why I was in a coat and tie and I explained what the American Legion Post #9 was going and my service to the community. I see him get into his truck and than he turns around and thanks the Legion and myself for the things we do and hands me a check for $500. People never cease to amaze me.
