Default Re: Towing with a Class B motorhome

My Class C is the shortest made. 25’ long overall. Wheelbase is the same as my long bed extra cab pickup. Distance from rear axle to hitch pivot is longer and it adds some tail wagging issues at times. E-450 chassis, V10- 5 speed auto overdrive. 4.56 gears. I reinforced my rear frame and hitch. Added airbags and good shocks up front. A weight distributing anti sway control hitch is a must. On good roads I can go 75. Pulling a 26’ trailer with my dragster and lots of spare stuff and equipment. V10 has lots of power and will pull any hill. Trans shifting is annoying. Trucks, and wind and rough roads and I slow down. Motor home stops better than my duramax pickup did with a Lance camper and trailer out back. V10 mileage is generally 7-8. I’ve had it going on 5 years. I’ve worked on class B’s doing generator work .They are Way to small to me....
