Default Re: Dumbo The Flying Elephant

They were out of my size, surprise! The one I chose: “I’m a Stock eliminator racer and spend a lot of money to go that slow”.
Cost of my trip
750 miles @ 10 mpg X $4.00 gal average
2 nights in motel
3 days food and drinks
Two full days of dyno time
And as Randy Payne would often say, “Can’t put a price on a good time!”

My advice to anyone going to a dyno: take everything you might need. Most of the stuff you take you’ll never need but if you do you might have what it takes to make the next pull. Plugs, fuel, wires, connectors, first aid kit, tires and wheels, injectors, coils, a few nuts and bolts.

On the road sometimes you see some interesting stuff. West Frankfort Il. has an good 1/8 mile track that has a good Saturday night program. The track can be seen from I 57. To get to the track a lot of racers have to cross a bridge going over I 57. Last night I observed what I think is a serious racer. As I approached the bridge on SB I 57 a tow truck was hooked to a truck pulling an enclosed trailer across the bridge heading to the track. Hope they won enough money to fix the truck.

Got to go the turkey’s are out in the field strutting there stuff.
