With the Pro tree for SG and S/ST now at .400 and .500 respectively It's a lot easier for cars with almost any good working suspension and even limited tires to be competitive
There are quite a few successful S/ST cars that run 9x30 and 10.5 tires . Not common in Super Gas ,but it has been done.
Personally I think a car like yours might be better suited to .90 racing with a large displacement small block 351 than the 460.
The rear suspension should work well, probably will need more gear, maybe not with the28" tires I'd consider upgrading to larger axles . ,there are lots of cars that run in the classes that have ladder bars and even Cal Tracs . Four links are great but not necessarily a requirement.
