Nothing new here. This was a "thing" back in the 80's too.

It's a difficult rule to enforce, as it means NHRA have to devote more (qualified) tech resources to enforcing these rules, which costs them more, and complicates race logistics.

I don't think they're prepared to do that for Stock Eliminator as we're a small part of the overall show.
