I have to disagree. With the advent and use of NASCAR valvetrain technology, new camshaft lobe configurations, and the frequent use of Spintron testing, the spring pressures have been reduced considerably.
Many racers are going faster with lower spring pressures.
With the proper rocker arm and pushrod stiffness, lightweight valves, and retainers, and solid tappet/roller lifters, you can run lower spring pressures and still have a stable at high RPM's.
