Default Re: CCRA Race #7 & #8 Farmington Dragway

It's crazy to say that we are officially 1/2 way through our 2025 CCRA-Carolina Class Racers Association season & it's the end of August but thanks to Mother Nature, here we are. We rolled into Farmington Dragway this past weekend for their 15th Annual Jerry & Norman's Memorial Legends of the Farm race. Thankfully Ma Nature tossed us a "bone" on Saturday with great racing weather & sunny skies for the majority of the day on Sunday.

Although Saturday started rough for the track staff with a clean up before time runs ever started, they prevailed in the end & all races declared a winner right at curfew. We started out with our one time run followed by our Warren Engines sponsored Dash for Cash. Kevin Locklear picked up the first $100.00 of the day for that run. He dialed a 6.48 & ran dead on his dial 6.4801 at 104.94 mph. We had 40 cars make the first round call with 1 car suffering breakage. Dawson Pauley made a post on Thursday night that since NHRA Southeast Division 2 canceled their National Open race at Carolina Dragway, he was coming racing at Farmington Dragway with CCRA. Although he lost first round on a good run, he didn't leave empty handed. He received the Victory Lane Golf Carts First Round Best Losing Package. DP was dialed a 8.05, had a .0544 RT & ran a 8.0554 at 82.77 mph. Kelsey Alexander unfortunately lost in 2nd round but she was awarded the Renegade Racing Fuel-Ford?s Fuel South East Master Distributor/ Renegade Race Fuels & Lubricants 2nd Round Best Losing Package & got herself a 5 gallon pail of PRO 112+. She had a .0942 RT, ran a 7.2645 at 85.50 mph on her 7.22 dial. At 3 cars, we had 2 different generations of Chevrolet Camaros & a Ford Mustang. Tanner Hiatt came out of the losing end to be the lone semi-finalist losing to Greg Viscome on a great run for both drivers. The finals finds Greg Viscome staging up his Ford Mustang against Stacie Ridings in her Chevrolet Camaro. Neither driver was in a hurry to leave the line but Viscome came out of top after Ridings broke out. I told her husband, Lambert, that we needed to schedule her for a chiropractic adjustment of her neck this week & we all laughed about it! Greg was .0943 at the tree, dialed a 7.07 but ran off his dial a bit, 7.2875 at 94.92 mph but came out with the victory. This was Stacie's first time putting her orange Camaro in the winner's circle. She was dialed a 6.97, had a .1116 RT & broke out running 6.9597 at 98.23 mph. Greg received a 2025 Winner's hat sponsored by Phillips Automotive, a large race trailer check sponsored by MJ's Custom Printing & Graphics, $250.00 gift certificate for Hippie Headers, $100.00 gift certificate to ATI Performance Products, a certificate for a set of spark plugs from E3 Spark Plugs, a 5 gallon pail of Fuel Factory F12 racing fuel, $50.00 Meziere Enterprises gift certificate, $100.00 Altronics Inc gift certificiate, $100.00 COMP Cams gift certificate, & a $100.00 Edelbrock Performance gift certificate. Viscome also picked up the Charlene's Tax Service Best Winning Package of the race during E5 when he staged up against Hiatt in the semi's. Greg was dialed a 7.07, had a .0031 RT, & ran a 7.0758 at 95.36 mph. Stacie received a smaller race trailer check from MJ's Custom Printing & Graphics, $150.00 gift certificate from Hippie Headers, $50.00 ATI Performance Products gift certificate, 5 gallons of Fuel Factory F8 racing fuel, 50% off 1 item coupon from Zamp Racing, $50.00 COMP Cams gift certificate, & a $50.00 Edelbrock Performance gift certiciate.

Tanner Hiatt also picked up the Dunn Logging Company, The Paul Bunyan "Best Reaction Time" award for his .0013 RT during E3. Cam Collins won the 3rd round but unfortunately broke a 3rd gear & was unable to return for R4 of competition so he was awarded the McLawhorn Raving Hard Luck award. Kenny Horne took out our last race winner, Jaymes Rawlings from the Sunday The Dragway at Coastal Plains Park event & picked up the Wayside Landscapes & Supply Bounty Hunter award money. Anyone who knows Homer Carty, knows he comes to races with a trailer full of spare parts & is always willing to loan those out to his fellow competitors in which he did on several occasions on Saturday. He was chosen for the Wisecarver Brothers Racing Sportsmanship award. The Gutters by Design "Mind in the Gutter"/Worst RT went to Chad Wisecarver in E1. This past weekend only made 2 events for the year for Chad due to races being rescheduled & his daughter Sarah being an active & might I add, great softball player so he was a little "rusty" & he made a post earlier today that stated he just wasn't mentally in it this past weekend. Don't worry Chad, you'll get back in the groove!
