Way back when, my brother-in-law ordered a brand spanking new 1970 Road Runner post with a 440-6BBL setup, 4-speed, 4.10:1 Dana, bench seat and little else. Super cool muscle car. It now needs restoration. He's questioned me about restoring the car for him and I've questioned him about selling it. But as he tells me, he doesn't care what anyone else thinks - it's his "baby", as long as he can go out into his garage and look at it -- restored or not, it makes him happy. I'm sure it brings back a flood of memories and I can truly appreciate that.

I personally have a pretty neat 1971 Corvette in my garage I enjoy working on. My daughter has called dibs on the car and she can have it when I go out to pasture. In the meantime, I'll go out to the garage every day and either work on it, or look at it and fondle my tools. It's my car and I'll do with it what I want.

I'm old. So is my brother-in-law. Our old cars make us happy. That's the real point. Fork that guy with the rant...and the over-stuffed ego..
