I have no experience with the 70 AMX hood but on my partners Hornet we ran the SC360 scoop sealed up to the carb and it worked ok. It definitely was not slower with the carb sealed up and the scoop opening on the AMX looks to be about the same size. This was on a low 10 second bracket car.
