Default Re: Jere Stahl in hospice

SO sorry to hear this. Jere has been one of my heros for fifty years. Absolutely one of the very brightest men I ever met. I got to play gofer for him and Bill Stiles at the World Finals here at Tulsa in 1966. He helped me win some races with my first Jr Stocker. Sold me pistons, rings, headers, "cheater cam" before they were actually legal. (It passed a tear down by Red Anderson) listed for me the gears, tires, wheels, clutch, flywheel, internal clearances to use, what jets for the carbs (each hole different) It was a '56 9 passenger wagon with 2 4bls, like he set records with. All the tune up specs, everything to make a 23 year old kid look smarter than he (I) actually was. Had that Street Hemi when I met him. I feel fortunate to have one of the last sets of headers out his door on my car right now. Talked to him well over an hour when I ordered them. He will be missed.
