Default Re: Race #5 & #6 Rockingham Dragway

Sunday's action started with a random tech card draw from Saturday & Sunday tech card to award one racer with a Visa gift card courtesy of Half Moon Marketplace for the "Act of Giving Back" award. Mr. Charlie Wisecarver, fresh off a runner-up finish at Shadyside Dragway in the Classic Gear Jammers 2nd Chance race Saturday evening was chosen for this. I think they told me they rolled into Rockingham Dragway about midnight & then grabbed a bite to eat the local Waffle House in Rockingham, NC. We then ran our Warren Engines sponsored Dash for Cash & Kenny Horne was the winner of the first $100.00 bill of the day. We had 2 dead 0 runs with a total of 7 dead on runs altogether. Kenny dialed a 6.27, had a .0428 RT, & ran 6.2701 @ 108.25 mph. First round of competition, we had 49 cars on the property but 4 suffered failure during the dash so we had 45 cars compete in round #1. Bert Powell with his wheel standing Chevy Camaro found himself on the losing end of a tough one during round #1 & was awarded the Victory Lane Golf Carts Best Losing Package. Bert had a .0013 RT, & broke out running 6.1989 @ 109.57 mph on his 6.20 dial. Dan Fletcher was our Renegade Race Fuels & Lubricants Round #2 fuel model where he was awarded a 5 gallon pail of PRO 112+ racing fuel for his R2 loss. He was dialed a 7.09, had a .0187 RT, & ran a 7.0877 @ 91.76 mph. Today's lone semi-finalist was Eddie Longhany Jr. as coming off a runner-up finish on Saturday. I think you could say he also had a great weekend of racing. Eddie Jr. came up short on this run against Kevin Locklear. Eddie Jr. was dialed a 6.65, had a .0464 RT, & broke out running 6.6257 @ 100.45 mph. Sunday's finals brought our 2 previous Sunday event runner-ups to the finals so one was going to up their title to bride & the other had to remain a bridesmaid (at least for another event). Billy Ryan (Coastal Plains Raceway Park Dragway Sunday runner-up) & Kevin Locklear (KDS Motorsports Sunday runner-up) met up in the finals. Unfortunately this race was over at the hit when Kevin lit the red bulb by -.0174 handing the race over to Billy Ryan. Needless to say, Baby Mama Amy, was very proud of her husband & tickled to death for his win as it got a tad bit emotional on the starting line but us girls stuck together & was right there by Amy's side!!! Billy was ready to get his 1st Eagle trophy & CCRA-Carolina Class Racers Association win as he was dialed a 6.18, had a .0155 RT & ran a 6.1711 @ 112.64 mph. Kevin had dialed a 6.68 & ran dead on his dial 6.6833 @ 100.33 mph. To add to both of their winnings; Billy received a $300.00 QA1 gift certificate & a $100.00 ATI Performance Products gift certificate. Kevin received a $100.00 Altronics Inc gift certificate, $50.00 Meziere Enterprises gift certificate, & a $50.00 ATI Performance Products gift certificate. Mr. Jim Morgan won round #3 but had parts failure on the top end & wasn't able to come back for round #4 of competition. He was awarded the McLawhorn Racing Hard Luck award & also the Auto Plus Service Center Paul Bunyan "Best RT" award for his .0012 RT during round #1. Hillarey Marshall collected on the Wayside Landscapes & Supply Bounty Hunter award for taking out Saturday's race winner, Steve Lucas, during round 1 of competition. She was dialed a 6.30, had a .0223 RT, & ran a 6.3161 @ 103.40 mph. Blake Hickman (my newly acquired hard-headed friend) received the Crew Chief Pro Software $100.00 gift certificate for the Best Winning Package of the race for his round #2 win. He had a .0084 RT, ran a 7.3337 @ 90.14 mph on his 7.33 dial. Ronnie Courtney received the Gutters by Design/Worst Reaction for his .3035 RT during round #1.

CCRA-Carolina Class Racers Association is off for about 3 weeks when we make our return to GALOT Motorsports Park. If someone could please contact Mother Nature & request a little cooler weather for that weekend, it would be AWESOME & much appreciated. During this break, the BIGGEST race of the year for Stock & Super Stock racers, The BIG GO, at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park will be taking place & we have a few racers that will be competing there & we wish them all the BEST OF LUCK & bring that win back to NC. We will be watching & cheering you on from here!!!
