I bought a couple of Edelbrock and one Offy due to people's claims of them making more power. I had never had access to a dyno back then, (weren't many around in the 1970s) but none ever went down the race track as fast as the 300-25 manifolds did on my car. I would guess they might need a lot of epoxy on an automatic car.

Ed, Garley helped dad obtain one of Jarvis intakes for his 283 auto sometime around mid to late 70's. It has a lot of epoxy work and made more power on Garley's dyno than the old style victor jr. I currently have it on the car now as I was unable to obtain the matching intake from Mike when I bought his used 520 heads last year. I recently updated dad's 283 to run ss again after nearly 30yrs. Plans are to get a reworked victor jr to compare later.
