Default Re: Dave Reitz of Bob Banning Dodge racing passes

The "Bounty Hunters" of the Banning & Sons Dodge / Plymouth dealership in Hyattsville Md. was a very successful team back in 1963. Dave drove the 63 max wedge Plymouth while Tom Sneden drove the 63 Dodge. These two raced everywhere in the mid-atlantic region with 75 - 80 Dragway as their home track. They won a lot more rounds and races than most back when it wasn't unusual to have 10 to 15 cars running in Super Stock. Many weekends they raced Fri., Sat. and Sun. and worked as line technicians at the dealership all week. Dave was a fine race car mechanic, tuner and first class driver and a good guy too. I sent him down the track many times as a young announcer at 75 - 80 and Aquasco too. Last year he was racing his 64 Dodge "Bounty Hunter" tribute car at Mason Dixon Dragway and won a seven round race knocking out two of our former track champs in the later rounds. He was was pretty proud of that accomplishment with many of his family members in attendance. I normally don't root for anyone out loud when announcing but I did that day. Sadly we've lost another fine racer, RIP.
